What is Good Web Design?

Simplicity is the key. Good website design is vital. The end user, your potential customer, wants the information they seek as quickly as possible. Your site needs to be attractive and simple to use.

Experience

Our web designers will create a site that delivers on every level. Whether you need a landing page, amendments to an existing site, a brand refresh or a full e-commerce website, we will surpass your expectations.

Web designers role

Below are some of the things you should consider when having a new website. We can talk through them in more detail and check which will apply to you.

No Hidden Costs

There will be no hidden costs to consider when building your website. You will be charged an annual fee for your domain and hosting. We charge £50 per year to host a standard five page website. Other host companies may charge more.

Domain Name

The domain name is the URL of the site. That is what you type into the top bar of the search engine. You can buy it yourself or alternatively we can buy it for you. You just pay us to renew it each year on your behalf.

Responsive Web Design

Over 60% of people now use their mobile phone to browse the internet. Therefore your website should be as seamless on mobile as it is on tablet, laptop and desktop. A responsive website has now become a necessity.

Website Hosting

Hosting is the space that your website ‘sits’ in. It is charged annually according to the size of your site. Please ask for details.

SEO - Search Engine Optimisation

There are many grey areas in web design and SEO. Too many people take advantage of that fact. Everything at Mouse Media is transparent. We will talk you through all aspects of SEO and answer any questions you may have.

Maintenence

To ensure that your site is kept up to date and more popular with the search engines, we offer a website maintenance package, please ask for details.

E-Commerce Website Design

An ecommerce site is a site that sells products. It will need to be clear and easy to navigate with as little as three clicks from product to purchase. We all have short attention spans now, apparently, shorter than a goldfish!

Our process

Our approach is friendly, clear and simple. We do not blind you with science as we realise that this is not your field of expertise. Instead, we guide you to projecting your brand online and outline what is available to you.

Initial Meeting

With covid restrictions it isn’t always possible to meet. We offer a telephone, Zoom or FaceTime call to establish the objective, deliverables and budget. Don’t worry if you don’t have a pre-conceived idea, that’s what the initial discussion is for.

Research

We like to understand who we are designing for so don’t be surprised if we ask questions or research your company. We will also need to establish your target audience – we need to know who we are selling to!

Agreement

Once we have talked through the brief, we will ask you to sign a web agreement. It states our terms, asks for basic details and determines dates for collection of information. We will also agree a go live date at this meeting.

Proofs

We will send you a link to your first draft and ask for your thoughts. It is often better to have something in front of you to know what you do or don’t like. At this point you will have time to make any amendments you see fit.

Go Live!

Once you are happy with your site we will launch. Any amendments required after launch will be charged separately.

Let's get started

If you don’t know where to start, no problem! We will talk you through every step of the process to ensure you are 100% happy with the outcome. We offer jargon free help with ideas, wording and images. Why not book an appointment with us today?
